News for the week of Christmas, 2008

Hello! Welcome to WebComics.cc, the new online comic project from Community Comics.

We have some exciting things happening this coming year on WebComics.cc, but to be honest we have some exciting things that have already been going on here.

First of all, if you haven’t already, please check out Hero TV: The Mark (The Director’s Cut).

We’re up to page 7 right now. This is the director’s cut because it has been colorized and it also had some dialogue changes to make it fit better with “continuity” and my own nagging preference. In the postings, you will learn more about why and the changes were made, if you’re curious about that sort of thing.

Meanwhile, to get into the Christmas spirit, we are presenting an old story again. The story is called “Good News” and can be found here. It is part of our Chosen Mortals series, a series of comics telling stories about the people in the Bible (sometimes people who we don’t think about too much). We will be posting more Chosen Mortals comics in the near future as well.

Hero TV and Chosen Mortals will both be ongoing series, but that’s not the only series WebComics.cc will be running. Starting December 26, we’ve got a special Christmas gift for you. Bookmark http://armorquest.webcomics.cc/ because we will be presenting, from the issue #0 story to the sixth and final chapter, the fantasy graphic novel ArmorQuest! There’s nothing there right now, but starting on December 26, 2008r 26, 2008

into the New Year we will be posting a page a day, and after that we will be posting a new page every Tuesday and Friday.

Hero TV. Chosen Mortals. ArmorQuest. Every week at WebComics.cc will see a new Hero TV page on Monday, ArmorQuest on Tuesday, Chosen Mortals on Wednesday, and another ArmorQuest page on Friday. On Sundays, we will be posting round ups here, on the WebComics.cc hub blog. Every Sunday, announcements will be made about these WebComics.cc projects, Community Comics print projects, but also other “family friendly” webcomics as well! These blog postings will make sure that you didn’t miss any of the updated comics on our list of family friendly comics.

For example:

Kurt Kolka’s The Cardinal has a new page up today. The Cardinal is a comic strip that Kurt Kolka has been working on for many years, and this new series of comics is a sort of updating of the concept. Ne wpages go up every Sunday. You can start the story from the beginning here. (And soon, WebComics.cc will be presenting The Cardinal Classic, starting from the very beginning of Kurt Kolka’s original run!)

Also, Community Comics own Ben Avery and Disney comics alum Kneon Transitt have started a new webcomic called “The Music of the Spheres“, a fantasy in the vein of Lord of the Rings and Hayao Miyazaki. You can start reading from the beginning here.

Each announcement that we make will include links to the most recent comic postings and a link to the first page of the comic, so new readers can get caught up and returning readers can pick up where they left off.

Every comic that is promoted here on WebComics.cc is a family friendly series. That does not mean that they are for kids, but it does mean they will not contain R-rated style objectionable material. If anyone would like their comic promoted on WebComics.cc, please contact us. Comics that will be promoted on WebComics.cc should be comics that are updated regularly, have all ages appropriate material, and of good artistic quality.

Please, sign up for our RSS feeds to keep up with the latest news, and once again, welcome to WebComics.cc!

~ Ben
