SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT: Crashland Studio
Crashland Studio: Jamie Cosley, Eric Merced, and Josh Alves have teamed up to bring Crashland Studio to life! Like a webcomic Frankenstein (except they don’t have the brain of a criminal, they don’t look like they should stink, and they don’t have bolts in their neck . . . usually) they have brought three of their webcomics together. And like a webcomic Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, they taste great together. (Insert “tastes like chicken” joke here.)
Here’s a look at the three webcomics that Crashland Studio is treating us to:
Tastes Like Chicken is a webcomic that WebComics.cc has promoted for a while, Josh Alves’ single panel humor strip that veers into Far Side territory. Very funny, very strange.
Spaced Thing is a short sci-fi story, part of what seems to be (from the description) an all ages anthology of sorts from Eric Merced. I liked Eric’s art, and in this story he’s using a fun, clean style that just makes me want more.
This Is How We Met is a . . . well, I’m not sure what it is. It’s bizarre, that much is true. And it’s from Jamie Cosley, whose Nobody Loves Tony Pony and More Than Sparrows both tend to defy genre. They’re goofy and touching, and I expect more of the same from This Is How We met.
I imagine this is just the beginning of what Crashland Studio has to offer. These guys have created some fun stuff in the past, are creating some even more fun stuff right now, and in the future? I hope there’s more/
All of these offerings from Crashland Studio are engaging and interesting, and we will be keeping you updated about them every Wednesday with our WebComics.CC Webcomic Wednesdays!
